all sweetness and light

treat our beloved floral print this month like a confection for your digital devices

when you think flowers, you may think spring, but we’re flipping the script with this sweet fall floral. with its confectionary hues—the cherry red accents are the metaphorical cherry on top—and graphic blooms, it’s poppy, pretty and, frankly, wonderful. adorn your digital devices accordingly.

room service (no hotel required)

a downloadable breakfast-in-bed menu for room service requests this weekend and beyond

there’s lots to love about hotel life. for our fall campaign, we focused on the lively see-and-be-seen lounge filled with interesting people at the pierre hotel in nyc. but when staying in one, there’s also the cushy pillow selections, the mini shampoos and conditioners and, of course, the room service. we love tucking into eggs benedict in our PJs, or snacking on a slice of leftover birthday cake while reading the paper.

so here’s a downloadable breakfast in bed menu from us to you, to meant to make weekend indulging that much easier. fill it out, deliver it to your roommate/significant other/children, and savor the results. the only rule? next weekend, you return the favor.

she has great taste

we welcomed master chocolatier janice wong and buro 24/7 to our singapore shop for a lesson (and recipe) in the art of chocolate.

the wildly creative chocolatier and chef janice wong has more than a little bit in common with willy wonka in all the best possible ways: she folds in local southeast asian ingredients like jackfruit, durian, red beans and palm sugar to create utterly unique desserts. she’s been named asia’s best pastry chef by the world’s 50 best (twice!). She also owns her own sweets shops, 2am: dessert bar and recently opened 2am:lab, a non-profit dedicated to inspiring culinary innovation.

we were so delighted to have wong treat guests at our ION orchard shop in singapore to a chocolate art demonstration, unveiling painted bonbons and more surprises after guests worked up an appetite shopping chocolate-bar clutches and other closet confections from our fall collection.

for all of our friends and family outside of singapore, janice has a treat for you, too: her secret recipe for chilli chocolate mousse.

the see-and-be-seen scene of the russian tea room

the who, what, where and when of this opulent new york institution—and setting for anna kendrick’s latest #missadventure in episode 3, "the best company"

the cultural history of the russian tea room is just one of the reasons our #missadventure heroine counts it as her go-to spot. having opened in 1927 on west 57th street by former members of the russian imperial ballet, it was originally a gathering place for russian expats but soon grew into an unofficial club for a wide range of interesting characters, from hollywood heavy-hitters to politicians to royalty.

perhaps it was because the layout of the restaurant’s dining room was designed with “seeing  and being seen” in mind. or because word of the tasty borscht and chicken kiev got out.

either way, here are a few of our favorite memorable moments that have happened over the years in and amongst the iconic red booths:
